Mrs. Becky Swanson
My goal while my children were young was to be primarily at home with them and I substituted part-time for several years for Tacoma School District, Clover Park District, and Franklin Pierce District. Our family relocated to the Vancouver area and we began attending Grace Lutheran Church. After I received my call to teach at Grace Lutheran School I continued my education at Martin Luther College and became certified. I began teaching here at Grace Lutheran School in 1994. I serve the Lord, teaching his lambs in the 5th and 6th grade. I love to teach God’s word and enjoy watching my student’s growing in their faith. I enjoy teaching all the other subjects as well. I appreciate that I can put my art knowledge to work here as I teach art in grades 5-8. I find that they are not the only ones learning. I learn from them also. My husband and I have three children. Our eldest, a daughter, is a senior at Bethany Lutheran College. Our son is studying to be a pastor at Martin Luther College. Our youngest, a daughter, is a junior at Evergreen Lutheran High School. I had the unique experience of teaching all three of my children at Grace. I am thankful for the opportunity to teach here at Grace Lutheran School. We know the plans that God has for us (Jeremiah 29:11-13a) and we can trust him to help us carry out the work he has for us to do. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you declares the Lord." |
